Music Ministry at FRPC
FRPC Chancel Choir
Our Chancel Choir is made up of 10-20 singers with mixed musical backgrounds, from professionally trained vocalists and instrumentalists to lifelong music lovers who just have a passion for singing and volunteering their time to music ministry.
Our mission is to engage in and provide a worshipful experience that celebrates the Lord’s unique gift of music: a language that sometimes transcends the barriers that creep up around our hearts. For this reason, we welcome vocalists and instrumentalist accompanists who are willing to maximize their skill levels through group rehearsal. Rehearsals are held weekly for a time of fellowship, learning, and collaboration as we prepare for FRPC services.
Choir members assist in guiding sung congregational responses and hymns, and provide a weekly anthem for the enjoyment and contemplation of our congregants. The anthems range from meditative to exuberant, emulating the vividly wide range of emotions we experience in our spiritual lives.
Please visit our Chancel Choir Website for more information posted for rehearsing members, and email music@frpcusa.org if you would like to become a part of our choir family.
FRPC Bell Choir
Our Bell Choir provides a unique opportunity for collaboration as a musical team as well as a bright, sonorous addition to special services. They ring every third Sunday of the month under the direction of Mr. James Randall, whose vast expertise in a variety of instrumental groups makes ringing an accessible and fun challenge for all participants. He chooses lively arrangements and medleys for a small group of ringers to showcase different techniques on both handbells and handchimes.
In addition to a special music piece, the Bell Choir also plays a large part in the liturgy, accompanying some of the familiar congregational responses in a fresh and inviting way. Please email Director James Randall at jrandall1968@gmail.com if you are interested in taking part in this unique and fulfilling team.
Special Music
We are always looking for ways to incorporate a variety of voices and members in our music ministry life. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to the Director of Music at music@frpcusa.org. We are happy to involve you as part of a prelude or as an interlude music piece in the summer when the Chancel Choir is on its seasonal hiatus.
There are other events in the works for musicians in the FRPC community, so please reach out if you would like to be involved but don’t see a clear fit in the groups listed above. We will gladly assist you in sharing your gifts with the whole community!
